Meteorites & Moldavites

Moldavites are beautiful, gem-quality type of tektite.

Current scientific thinking holds that they were formed approximately 15 million years ago as a result of a meteorite impact in the region of Bavaria. The impact sent splatters of molten material into the atmosphere, which cooled and solidified as they fell. The transparent, olive green colour makes Moldavites poplar for jewellery and faceting. In Czech folklore, Moldavites are believed to aid marital harmony. Metaphysically, they are known as "Celestial Stones of Transformation" credited with influencing the chakras to create change in life and spiritual dimensions, and to enhance awareness of one’s true purpose.

All our specimens are top quality. Photos were taken without a back-light, so these moldavites are brighter and more translucent than in the images shown.
