Cassiterite

How good is this miniature? An aesthetic, mirror like, very lustrous complexly twinned black cassiterite crystal 14 mm across perched on top on grayson matrix with a few white quartz crystals. Top specimen from this well known Elsmore area in New South Wales. Ex. Alan Woolfstencroft collection.

Boulder Opal

Gemmy spots of precious opal scattered and contrasting nicely on one side of the dark chocolate brown ironstone nodule. If properly polished the display of colours will improve dramatically.

Typical local ironstone nodule, also known as "Yowah Nut", split in half with the centre filled with transparent gemmy colourless and striking blue precious opal. The measurements are for the full nodule and not individual pieces.

Gypsum

Pretty light green transparent and lustrous stubby gypsum, variety selenite, single crystals and/or flower like sprays coloured by presence of copper in the area completely covering one side of the specimen. The opposite side is full of large water clear gypsum crystals coated light brown.

Hematite

Gypsum

Two generation of growth; second generation of pretty light green transparent and lustrous stubby gypsum, variety selenite, single crystals coloured by presence of copper in the area completely covering the top side of the specimen and sitting on top of the first generation gypsum that was formed at the bottom of the lake with large water clear crystals coated light brown.

Crocoite

Adelaide Mine, Dundas Mineral Field, Zeehan District, Tasmania, Australia.

Lustrous, very bright deep orange-red crocoite crystals sitting on a thin plate of gossan matrix with local clay on the other side of the specimen and partly mixed with some crystals from the famous Adelaide mine in Tasmania. Ex. Wayne Cousins collection.

Almandine
