Muzo Mine, Vasquez-Yacopi Mining District, Boyaca Departmnt, Colombia.

An excellent thumbnail, a cluster of gemmy lustrous perfectly terminated nice green Emerald crystals with minor quartz on brown host rock. The specimen was originally purchased by Brian Shelton in 1975 from Minex, a lapidary and mineral shop in Melbourne and it was part of Brian collection all this years.

Several hooper octahedral crystals perched on top of each other form this beatiful miniature of sparkling sharp Hematite crystals pseudomorphing magnetite, and this speimens come from an Argentinian volcano in a national park that is now off limits to any collecting.

What an exceptional and interesting specimen, an outstanding and aesthetic cluster of extremely sharp sparkling Hematite crystals pseudomorphs after magnetite. The location is a volcano in a national park in Argentina and collecting is not allowed. The picture doesn't do it justice, it is just great, and by far the best I have ever seen.
