Location: Chapple Vale, Otway Ranges, Port Campbell, Victoria, Australia.
  Fulgurite is a tubular piece of cemented-fused sand, produced at the impact site of a lightning strike during a thunderstorm. The quartz grains are changed by the intense heat into shiny quartz glass, which is known as lechatelierite, and which may be seen lining the central tubular cavity through the length of the specimen.
